Inaugural Southern Darkness Festival Announced...

Here at The Blog of Doom, we're pretty excited about the emergence of heavy metal festivals across the US. While we're still light years behind Europe and their fancy Wacken, Bloodstock, Roadburn, etc., I think we're on the right track here in the States. Another festival has now been announced for this summer, the inaugural Southern Darkness Festival, which will take place on Saturday, August 23 in Tampa, FL.  The lineup is pretty strong so far, featuring Pelican, Lord Mantis and Black Tusk, among others, with more bands still to be announced. Tickets will go on sale shortly, and you can keep tabs on the festival at their official facebook page.
