Beastwars to Re-Release Two Albums...

New Zealand stoner metal giants Beastwars have announced the re-issue of their classic albums Beastwars (2011) and Blood Becomes Fire (2013) on Granite House Records on June 9. I've only recently become familiar with this band, but they have the official 'Stamp of Approval' from The Blog of Doom. If you haven't checked them out yet, stop whatever you're doing right now and give them a listen. Your skull will be crushed and I apologize for that in advance, but you'll likely survive.

The Skull Release Two New Tracks...

The Skull, a doom quartet featuring 3 members of 80's doom pioneers Trouble (hence the name) have released two tracks off of their upcoming album for Tee Pee Records. There's some conflicting news about when the actual album will be released, but I think Fall 2014 is a safe bet right now. Serpentine Path Announce Album Release Date...

New York City doom super group Serpentine Path (featuring former members of Electric Wizard, Winter, Unearthly Trance and Ramesses) have announced that they will release Emanations on May 27 on Relapse Records. Fans of the Doom/Death genre will want to mark their calendars for this release, the follow-up to their strong, self-titled 2012 debut album.

Insomnium & Fu Manchu Debut New Tracks...

Finland's Insomnium, of the last great Melodic Death Metal bands, have released a new video for a track off of their upcoming album, Shadows of the Dying Sun (April, 29; Century Media):

We're eagerly anticipating this release at The Blog of Doom. If you haven't heard these guys yet, do yourself a favor and check out the entire back catalog. I recommend starting with Above the Weeping World.

Meanwhile, stoner rock legends Fu Manchu have released a second track off of their upcoming record, Gigantoid (April 29, At The Dojo):

Based on the first two singles, I think it's safe to say that this might be the best Fu Manchu record since 1997's The Action is Go. April 29 is shaping up to be a colossal day for record releases.
