Godless Angel - Harvester of Shadows (Inverse) Second album from one-man Lawrence, KS band. Mix of Heavy and Death Metal. The vocals are a little hard to take at times, but the riffs are massive and the Slayer-esque, whammy drenched solos are fun. | Maestus - Voir Dire (Domestic Genocide/ Glossolalia) Debut album from Eugene, OR Blackened Doom trio. When they're dooming, it's spectacular. When they shift to Black Metal mode, it's formulaic, but still enjoyable. |
Night - Soldiers of Time (Gaphals) Second album from Swedish quartet. Pretty standard 80's Heavy Metal sound with killer guitars and catchy choruses, except for one forgettbale acoustic track that sounds like a 4 Non Blondes song. | Sannhet - Revisionist (The Flenser) Second album from Brooklyn trio. Instrumental Post-Black Metal. Atmo- sphere galore and solid musicianship, with no shitty gargled/screeched vocals to ruin the vibe. Fun listen. |
